Chief Warrant Officer Three Steven B. Redd, 37, passed away August 8, 2011 while conducting a training operation at Fort Benning, GA.
CW3 Redd had over 19 years of service to the United States Army and was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, the Night Stalkers.
He was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He was the recipient of numerous awards and decorations.
Public viewing will be Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Layton, UT. Additional viewing will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 from 10 to 11 a.m.at the LDS Church at 2505 N. Church Street, Layton, UT. Funeral services will begin at noon at the LDS Church listed above. Grave side services will take place at Lake View Memorial Cemetery, Bountiful, UT.
CW3 Redd was born July 11, 1974 in Newport News, VA, son of L. Tracy and Dorothy F. Redd.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his parents, wife Adalia Redd, children Jazlyn Redd, Dezaray Redd, Tristyn Redd, Paige Halls, Eden Halls, and Ledger Halls, brothers John Redd, Capt. Michael Redd, and James Redd, and sisters Susan Mahler, Cindy Smith, Debbie Watkins, Kathy Larsen, Amy Farris, and Sharon Redd.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Steven B. Redd Memorial Fund, 1884 East 2825 North, Layton, UT 84040.
