The specific piece of equipment donated by Eagle Air Med is designed for use with infants to adults and may be used in the ICU, recovery room, or ER. Because of the nearly $10,000 price tag, the facility had not yet been able to secure a ventilator.
“Essential to the care of every critical patient is airway management,” said Dr. Sandy Nielson, of Blue Mountain Hospital. “With this new gift from Eagle Air Med we will be able to, in a much more effective way, manage airways on our most critical patients.
“We are grateful that we can partner with Eagle Air Med so we can care for mutual patients and provide state of the art health care for San Juan County and the surrounding area.”
“From previous transports with Blue Mountain Hospital we were keenly aware that this specific piece of equipment was needed by the facility,” said Jim Hunt, Eagle Air Med Vice President. “We are grateful we have the opportunity to make such a donation, a donation that will benefit our local hospital and in turn the entire community.”
Eagle Air Med has been serving the Four Corners Region for 25 years plus.
