Elsie Murrish was born on September 26, 1923 in Rigby, ID the daughter of Daniel Wesley and Ada (Duerden) Crump. She passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at her residence at the age of 87.

On October 7, 1946, Elsie married Robert Earl Murrish in Las Vegas, NV. The couple shared 63 years of marriage before Robert’s passing in 2010.

Elsie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Third Ward.

In her free time, Elsie enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She especially loved spending time with her friends quilting.

Surviving Elsie are her children, Connie Adams of Yucaipa, CA; Howard Murrish and wife, Rhonda, of Ontario, CA; Wanda McCoy and husband, Weslie, of Phoenix, AZ; Sidney Murrish and wife, Elizabeth, of Ontario, CA; Wesley Murrish and wife, Nancy, of Fair Oaks, CA; Ada McVey of Cortez, CO; and Kelley Stephenson and husband, Tom, of Bayfield, CO. She also leaves behind 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Joseph Crump and wife, Helene, of Grants Pass, OR; Donald Crump and wife, Willa, of Riverside, CA; LaVon Pitts and husband, Roy, of Springdale, AR; and Lucy Grint of Lebanon, TN.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Robert Murrish; and by three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services for longtime Cortez resident Elsie Murrish were held Saturday, May 28 at Cortez Cemetery.
