Father Bill Wheaton is beginning a six-year assignment as the new priest for the Catholic Church in southeast Utah. Wheaton will be busy, covering a wide range of church activities from Green River to San Juan County. Wheaton said that services are currently held each week in Moab, Monticello and Green River, with a goal of returning to the small church in La Sal in the future. Wheaton is a Utah native, who earned a PhD in educational administration before leaving the Catholic parochial school system and becoming a priest. Staff photo
