A fire on April 30 completely destroyed a vacant mobile home in La Sal.  The fire started near the meter box at the mobile home.

Neighbors rushed to the site and fought the fire with garden hoses until the La Sal Volunteer Fire fighters arrived minutes later.

The mobile home and its contents were engulfed in flame and destroyed within 15 minutes.  A small motor home parked near the trailer was gutted by the fire.

A larger fire truck and water tanker from Monticello also responded to the fire.  Resources from Moab were present, as well as EMTs from Monticello.

The greatest danger presented by the fire was its proximity to other homes.  Fortunately the efforts of all respondents prevented any harm to these homes.
