Frank Edward Allred, 78, passed away peacefully April 19, 2011, at his home in Cottonwood Heights, UT surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 5, 1932 in Monticello, UT to Wilson Horace Allred and Frances Ila Walton. He attended elementary school in Monticello and later graduated from Pershing County High School in Lovelock, NV.

He honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

On June 19, 1963 he married his life’s love and eternal companion, Diana Mae Taylor in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

For thirty years he was employed by the Utah Department of Corrections at the Utah State Prison as a Warehouseman, Supervisor and eventually retired as the head of the Purchasing Department. He received a number of awards for his duties, honesty and ethics, including one from the Governor of Utah, which was a great source of family pride and honor.

Following his retirement, he enjoyed working countless hours at the Jordan River and Salt Lake Temples as an ordinance worker as well as patron. Aside from his numerous Good Samaritan efforts and service to others, in his spare time he thoroughly enjoyed woodcarving and created numerous award-winning pieces.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; children: Bruce (Kristy), Jane (Erik Henley), Tom (Marianna), Sally (Bart Bowen), Dale (Allison); and 12 wonderful grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters and brother: Donna (Chris Christensen), Meade (Pat), Mary Ann Hill, Carol Miller and Janet (Henry Todd).

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wilson, and sister, Frances Hunt.

Funeral services were April 25, 2011 in Cottonwood Heights, UT. Interment at the Mountain View Cemetery.
