2016 ended strong for the Grayson Country Quilters of Blanding.  Besides organizing their usual awesome 4th of July quilt show, and running a successful 4-H quilt camp, they made literally carloads of quilts, pillow cases, baby blankets, wall hangings, and kitchen items for the Primary Children’s Hospital fundraiser in December.

They recently received a letter from Diane Kimmerle,  thanking them for their contribution.  “We don’t have the final total for Festival yet and won’t until the end of March.  What your group did was so unbelievable.  Every one of your quilts sold.  On opening night, they have a ‘cash and carry’ where they put lots of the quilts because that seems to be what people want to buy that night.

"I saw two of yours in the auction itself, and they both sold for $700.  It was a remarkable year in that everything on the auction floor—that included trees, gingerbread houses, quilts, wreaths, centerpieces, etc.—sold by Saturday night.  Your group was the most remarkable of ALL!!!!!”

This year, the Grayson Quilters are making baby blankets for Blue Mountain Hospital in Blanding.  Anyone who has fabric they might like to donate to this good cause can take it to Kathy Hurst or bring a completed baby quilt to donate!  Regular meetings are the third Wednesday of each month at the Arts and Events Center.
