Hillman Triathlon lives up to name

Warm conditions were the order of the day at the annual Hillman Triathlon, held July 17 at Recapture Reservoir north of Blanding.

The overall winner is Chad Hurst, of Cortez, CO, who finished the grueling course in  1:21:27. The top female finisher is Jolene Wilkinson, of Park City, UT, in a time of 1:30:41.

The first place team is made of Blanding residents Taylor Francom, Mark Endres and Steve Francom. Their time is 1:26:04.

 In the under 20 category, Alex Bowcut of Holladay, UT is first in 1:21:40 and Taylor Francom is second in 1:31:01.

In the 26-30 age category, the top female is Callie SpottedElk of Albuquerque, NM in 1:42:35 and the top male is Kirk Hazelton of Monticello in 1:45:27.

The top male finishers in the 31-35 age category are Chad Hurst, followed by Bill Sivert of Blanding in 1:36:19. The top female is Sarah Hurst of Cortez, followed by Koryn Knudsen of Monticello.

The top male in the 36-40 age category is Jason Carwin of Eagle Mountain, UT in 1:32:38, followed by Milton Carroll of Payson, UT in 1:43:30. The top female is Jolene Wilkinson, followed by Jenna Woodbury of Moab in 1:49:22.

Kim Hiatt of Blanding, is the top female in the 41-45 age category in 1:44:08

The top male in the 46-50 age category is John Harris of Fort Collins, CO in 1:39:55, followed by David Olsen of Moab in 1:44:01.

The top female is Donna Mast of Littleton, CO in 2:11:32.

The top male finishers in the 51-55 age category are Robert Burns of Farmington, NM    in 1:37:50, followed by David Lyman of Blanding in 1:54:17.

The top Co-Ed team is Brian Boyd, David Lyman and Macee Nielson in 1:35:30. Second is Matt London, Todd Olsen, and Michelle Adams in 1:54:39.

The top All Male team is Francom, Endres and Francom, followed by Matt Briggs and Brian Boyd in 1:45:35.

The Hillman Kids triathlon was also held on July 17.

In the boys age 7-10 category, the winner is Grange Simpson of Bluff in 10:22, followed by Tyler Moreau of Moab in 11:44, Evan Madsen of Salt Lake City in 13:34, Cooper Madsen of Salt Lake City, UT in 16:03, and Caleb Sivert of Blanding in 17:33.

In the girls age 7-10 category, the winner is Aubrey Carroll of Payson, UT in 11:43, followed by Brianna Hurst of Cortez, in 14:04, and six-yer-old Sofie Hook of Bluff, UaT in 14:39.

The boys age 11-14 category was won by Ethan Hurst of Cortez in 21:15, followed by Malin Knight of Phoenix, AZ in 29:07.

The winner of the girls age 11-14 category is Kia Knight of Phoenix, AZ in 27:53.
