Local Boy Scout earns rare award
The Boy Scouts of America hosted the annual San Juan District Banquet on February 11. Along with a host of awards to scouts and leaders throughout the district, Porter Bradford was presented the William T. Hornaday Silver Medal for Conservation.  In the past 100 years, this award has been presneted just 1,100 times to boys, adults, and organizations.  See the San Juan Record website, at www.sjrnews.com, for a description of Bradford’s scouting experience.
