Locally grown sisters Jennifer Kilgrow Clark and Stephonie Kilgrow Williams delight in their first collaboration and published work, Mark of Royalty.

The book trailer states, “Sarah has a secret even she doesn’t know. Marked at birth with the imperial crest, her royal identity cannot be disputed. But when prophesies and politics threaten her life she is taken from her home and raised with a secret; one that when discovered will shake the kingdom to its core.”

Jennifer and Stephonie both graduated from Monticello High School, in 1992 and 1990, respectively. Jennifer lives in Wellington, UT and Stephonie in Denton, IA.

Jennifer says she got her love and talent for story telling from her dad, Don Kilgrow. The idea for the book came in a dream and the rest she made up as she went along.

Jennifer said Stephonie has the natural writing talent and was encouraging and instrumental in getting Jennifer to pursue completing the book.

They admit the long distance collaboration was laborious, but after a couple of years, they submitted their work to Covenant Communcations for publishing.

Because of the waning economy, it took a few more years for Covenant to publish the book. As a result, this book has been a long time in coming.

Independently, Jennifer Clark has two more manuscripts ready and Stephonie Williams is working on a series called Gem Dragon for young readers.

The authors start a book signing tour on February 12 at Deseret Book in south Provo.

They will be in Monticello for a book signing from 5 to 7 p.m. on February 17 at the San Juan Record, 49 South Main. They will also visit high school English and writing classes.
