The total assessed value of San Juan County properties increased by nearly $93 million in the past year, from $753 million in 2009 to $845 million.
The 12 percent increase means a larger tax base and a possible tax break for many homeowners.
The assessed value of properties in Monticello grew two percent, from $64 to $65 million.
There was a 12 percent growth in property values in Blanding, from $72 to $80 million. The increase is due to new growth and the reassesment of a number of properties, said County Assessor Howard Randall.
