Monticello residents will gather on Monday, December 8 for an annual tradition: the Shop at Home Christmas Parade. Sponsored by the Monticello Chamber of Commerce, the event is driven by the enthusiastic support of Staci and Jeremy Hoggard at Get Go Imaging.



The Hoggards have been increasing the scope of their activities in the community. In addition to running a thriving and growing business, Jeremy is a member of the Monticello City Council and president of the Chamber of Commerce.



Jeremy recently sat down for an interview.



Scott: So, what is it like to be in business in the Four Corners area?  



Jeremy: Great and frustrating all at the same time.   We love the area and would not want to run our business anywhere else.  It is challenging to meet the expectations people have because of the distance to travel and the response times you have to meet, but we try hard to meet the expectations of others and strive to provide quick service for the products we offer.   

Q: Explain what your business specializes in. 



A: Full color everything: banners, pole street banners, vehicle/fleet graphics, full wraps, perforated window film, big photo prints, custom logo design, real estate, political, construction, directional, yard, and resort signage, trade shows, conventions and special events, building graphics, backlight displays, floor graphics, wall murals, interior signage, menu boards, vinyl lettering, labels-decals of all types, window graphics, business cards, copy services full color/black and white, lamination, and punch and binding service,  just to name a few.

Q: What is your company history?



A: Our background is in office equipment (copiers and fax) since 1987.  In 1999, we started GetGo Signs & Grafix. When we started we cut vinyl and have since added full color print to our line up of services.  We specialize in anything printed in full color. 

Q: What area do you cover?  



A: Moab to Monument Valley is our basic territory, however I have accounts in Grand Junction and ship orders all over, I even printed full color stickers for a boat in Mexico.  

Q: What do you enjoy the most?



A: The challenge of a new day and being able to spend time with my family. 

Q: The least? 



A: It’s hard to do enough of the same thing to be able to perfect it. Sometimes you have to rethink so much of how you did something the last time. 

Q: Where did you get your training?   



A: My copier and fax background came from Les Olson Company in Salt Lake City.  They needed someone in the area, and we happened to be in the right place at the right time. This helped set the foundation for our other adventures.  Now I attend as many special trainings that I can to keep up with that part. I have figured a lot of this business out on my own. We are excited to go to a wrap academy this winter to learn more about vehicle wraps.

Q: Tell me about the name, GetGo Imaging. 



A: Stacilou came up with the name one day.  We were sitting around trying to think of something like gecko because we like lizards and she came up with Get the CALL and Go, and from there we became GetGo Imaging Inc. with our DBA GetGo Office Products and GetGo Signs and Grafix. It just fits.

Q: I love the lizard on your logo.  What is the story? 



A: I have loved lizards forever.  He has changed a few times over the years but the current blue lizard has an interesting story. We purchased it from a Tattoo web site and converted it to use large format.  The blue lizard is a keeper. 

Q: What are some frustrations? 



A: People have the mentality that they need to go somewhere else to get the products that they need.   In some cases this is true, but we have faster service and set our pricing lower then the large cities that surround us.  Another frustration is the passive nature of people here saying, “I don’t have the time to be involved.”  I honestly believe someday outside interests are going to show up and change our town. I hope that it is good and people accept what they can’t change, because it will be too late. 

Q: Describe your family. 



A: I have the most awesome family ever. They support me in everything that I do, good and bad.  I have three wonderful kids Ashley is 11, Breckyn is 4 and ALL Boy, and Charlei Lou is 2. She came with a lot of personality and attitude. Staci and I met in eighth grade and have been best friends since.  We married in 1996, so 12+ years and many, many more to come. 

Q: What are your goals & aspirations?  



A: To be able to stay here and make enough money to do so, to expand my business into something that will support my family and hopefully our children’s family’s for years to come. 

Q: What is your biggest responsibility? 



A: Keeping customers happy, meeting their expectations, and just doing it right.

Q: You are a member of the Monticello City Council.  What effect has that had on your business, good or bad?  



A: Good and bad, I’m sure there are people that won’t come in and buy from us because of the service that I provide to the community on the City Council.  Someone wise once told me that you have to do business with your friends because your enemies don’t want anything from you. 

Q: What are your feelings about serving on the Council?  



A: I think that everyone should serve.  There are many ways to serve even if you can’t dedicate the time necessary to serve on the council. Volunteer for a committee, join the Chamber of Commerce, communicate with your city council members, attend public hearings, just to name a few.

Q: Why should we do business with Get Go Imaging? 



A: Because we offer great products at a great value,  we value our clients as close friends,  we want to establish a long running relationship, and be know as “Your Image Specialist”

Q: Who influenced you the most?  



A: My dad, of course. I started working with my dad when I was 14 years old. I got fired several times, as we all do, and ended up working several other odd jobs. Then I realized that working for and with my dad wasn’t so bad. 



My dad is the reason we own GetGo and that I live in Monticello. I think that he would be proud of the business it is becoming. 

Q: Name one item you own that best represents you. 



A: My big white lizard truck (as my kids call it).
