Vehicle search produces six kilos of cocaine

Six kilos of cocaine were discovered in a vehicle passing through San Juan County on Thursday, May 3 when Utah Highway Patrol Troopers stopped a 2000 Mercedes SUV for a traffic violation. 

Suspicious of criminal activity, the troopers were granted consent for a vehicle search, which turned up six kilos of cocaine hidden in a manufactured compartment. 

The estimated street value of the cocaine is $590,000.
