A Highway Patrol trooper stopped a white Chevrolet Traverse with Arizona plates for lane travel violations and illegal window tint. The vehicle was searched and troopers found several large duffel bags throughout the vehicle that were full of marijuana.
Troopers noticed that a Black GMC appeared to have been following the Chevrolet. That vehicle was stopped further down the highway. There were no drugs in the second vehicle, but cell phone records indicate that they were traveling together.
Three individuals were charged with felony possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Two of the individuals are undocumented foreign nationals and the third is a US citizen.
Officials believe they were headed to Missouri
The street value of the illegal drugs is approximately $676,000.
