The Monticello Rotary Club is sponsoring an Interact Club at Monticello High School.  Members of the Interact Club joined with Rotary members to place crosses and flags near the graves of Monticello veterans in the Monticello Cemetery.

With the assistance of the Hoggard family, the clubs located the markers for the final resting place of those who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.

Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 12 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting.

Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects.

Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships and learn the importance of developing leadership skills and personal integrity, demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others, understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work and advancing international understanding and goodwill.

Faculty advisor for the Interact Club is Vice-Principal Ron D. Sharp.  Those interested in joining Interact may contact Sharp or Susanne Anderson.
