Devondrek Jimmy Kinlacheeny arrived at 9:28 p.m. The 20.5 inch, seven pound, two ounce bouncing baby boy was delivered by Dr. Mahana Fisher.
Devondrek is the son of Valterra Sayetfitty and JC Kinlacheeny of the Monument Valley area. He joins four siblings at home, including Aaron, age 11; Jayven, age six; Shalterra, age four; and Iverson, age two.
The New Years baby at San Juan Hospital arrived eight hours later, on January 2 at 5:13 a.m. A beautiful little girl was born to Brittney Lehi and Marquez Lopez of White Mesa. The New Year baby is their first child.
She weighs seven pounds, two ounces and is 20 inches long. The baby was delivered by Dr. Lance Allen.
After experiencing respiratory problems, the baby was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Juncion, CO by a fixed-wing lifeflight airplane.
The New Years Baby marks the coming of a new year and is greeted with a host of gifts from area businesses.
