The City of Blanding has received four applications to fill an open position on the City Council. Council Mike Halliday resigned after he and his wife were called to serve a mission for the LDS Church.

City residents who applied to replace Halliday include Robert Ogle, Gail Northern, Steven Smith and Liz Adams.

The City Council will interview the applicants and decide on a replacement. It is expected that the selection will be announced on July 10.

The position will go to voters at the next regularly scheduled election in November, 2013.
