Optimus Prime, the star of Paramount Pictures’ Transformers 4, was unveiled to the world from San Juan County on May 30 when shooting for the movie began in Monument Valley. Several scenes for the film were shot in the area, including at La Sal Junction and the Hole in the Rock tourist stop on Highway 191. The film is scheduled for release in June, 2014. The three previous Transformer movies have generated more than $3 billion in box office revenue.

By the way, Prime is the leader of the Autobots, a faction of transforming robots from the planet Cybertron. And you thought it was just a truck.
