Homecoming events in Monticello and Blanding

Monticello High School hosts homecoming activities this week with a series of events.

The annual Homecoming Queen pageant will take place on Wednesday, October 2 beginning at 1 p.m. at the high school auditorium.

Wednesday evening is a powder puff football game beginning at 7 p.m.

The homecoming parade begins at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The parade will go north from the high school to the elementary school and then head back toward the high on 100 West.

The homecoming football game is against the Altamont Longhorns on Friday beginning at 7 p.m.

Other events include the volleyball team playing San Juan in Blanding on Tuesday, with varsity play beginning at 7 p.m. and hosting Monument Valley on Friday at 5 p.m.

The cross country team runs in Cortez on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The events move to Blanding next week as San Juan High School hosts homecoming.

The Mr. San Juan Pageant is Monday, October 7 at 7 p.m. at the high school auditorium.

The volleyball team plays on Tuesday and the powder puff football game is Wednesday at 7 p.m.

A Fundraiser Spaghetti Dinner is 6 p.m. on Thursday in the high school cafeteria.  Cost is $5 per plate.

The Homecoming Assembly begins in the high school at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 11, followed by the homecoming parade at noon down Main Street.

The Broncos host the Gunnison Bulldogs for the homecoming football game at 7 p.m. in Blanding.
