Our sweet mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruth Virginia Olze Bumcrot, passes away in her sleep on August 21 after suffering a massive stroke.
Ruth was 91 3/4 young. She was born on October 31, 1922 in Los Angeles, CA.
She married Robert Jack Bumcrot on January 10, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. They were sealed for time and all eternity on October 23, 1954 in the St. George Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
They were blessed with five beautiful children: Virginia Louise (Arries) Ronald Jack, Robert Dee, Richard Paul, and Patricia Ruth (Lawrence); 16 grandchildren and lots of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who all loved her dearly.
After raising all their children, they retired to Monroe, UT in 1975, where Dad and Mom built their dream home.
They loved to travel, especially into Mexico, where they fell in love with the people and spent many winters there. They then moved to Yuma, AZ in 1993 and spent their summer with their son Richard and his family in Monticello, UT.
Ruth was very active in the LDS church and held many positions. She enjoyed indexing (she did thousands of names) and family history.
She is preceded in death by her husband and son Ronald.
Ruth will be missed by her family and all who knew her. She was a very special woman.
The family would like to thank all those who were involved in taking care of mom in her last days.
Ruth Virginia Bumcrot will be laid to rest at the Monticello Cemetery on Wednesday August 24, 2014 at 5:15 p.m.. Anyone wanting to attend is welcome to join us.
