Certificates to nearly 150 students at USU commencement

Commencement exercises will be held on April 24 for students attending the Utah State University – Eastern campus in Blanding beginning at noon in the San Juan High School auditorium. Nearly 150 students will be honored at the ceremony.

Featured guest speaker is Stan Albrecht, the president of the university. Albrecht has led USU for more than ten years.

Other highlights will be an address by student Dolphina Kaye, and a Chanchellor’s Medallion award for Blanding City Manager Jeremy Redd.

Earning bachelors degrees are Tranner Sharpe in Business Administration and Florinda Lynn Poyer in Social Work.

Earning an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Lab Technician are Blaire Maryboy—Bitsinnie, Jordan Scott Christiansen, and Valencia Ketchum, with Joletta Sayetsitty and Richard Winser II graduating with honors.

Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice goes to Monae Primeaux, Kayla Lee, Rachel Redd, and Danialle Whitehat.

Earning an Associate of Arts are Shaina Francis, Colby Redd, LeighAnn Jackson, and Catherine S. Winder with honors.

Students earning a Certificate of Completion in Practical Nursing include Joshua Anderson, Katelynn Begay, Macey Dalton, Christallin Hayes, Erin Jones, Amber Obrien, Mandy Mae Owens, Brianna Nicole Paulson, Tami Sanchez, and Erla Rae Sagg, with Tenia Peace graduating with honors.

Seven students earned an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing — Registered, including Tyler Lyman Bailey, Talisha Biakeddy, and Lauren Virginia Ericson, with Teresa Ferro, Audrey L. Leber, Mandy Palmer Nieves, and Daniel James Rodriquez earning honors.

Students earning a Departmental Certificate in CDL Trucking include LaRue Baker, Derrick Begay, Oscar Begaye, Ronald Cecil, Amada Chee, Tremayne Cowboy, Britanya Dan, Dominic Freeman, Thomas Hawkins, Wendall Henry, Myron Johnson, Kenneth Maynard, Barbara Phillips, Michael Piper, Calandra Seaton, Chris Scovill, and Emilio Todecheene.

Earning a Departmental Certificate in Heavy Equipment are Kenneth Begay, Skyler Bitsinnie,Leroy Boy, Kole Click, Derick Holiday, Theron Hamm, Walter Lyman, Leandrew Lynch, Garrett McCabe, Leander Rockwell, Lionel Shorthair, Joe Smith, and Shayne Ross.

Earning certificates in CDL Trucking and Heavy Equipment are John Lee, Jameson Atene, Christian Sarellano, Wayne Smallcanyon, and Kenny, Kerome, and Timothy Yazzie.

A total of 78 students receive an Associate of Science degree. Graduates with highest honors are Davin R Lyman and Jerrick L. Tsosie. Students graduating with high honors include Eshyla Becenti, Debbie J. Begay and Cody Sayetsitty.
