Estella Martinez, of Canjilon, NM, passed away October 27, 2016 in Farmington, NM.
Estella was born July 28, 1933 to Emilano and Mary Montano. She was a very strong, independent woman who was proud of her family. She enjoyed singing songs as Way Downtown and Love you a Bushel.
Estella married Fidel Martinez and they lived in Basin, CO, near Disappointment Valley. They raised many kids there, where her late husband was a rancher.
Estella was a devoted wife and mother. The last few years, she lived with her kids in Espanola and Farmington, NM.
She is survived by her children, Jerry and Debbie Martinez of Blanco, NM; Michael and Diane of Bloomfield, NM; Connie and Jeff Glover of Grand Junction, CO; Peggy Bennett of Aztec, NM; Herman and Christine of Espanola, NM; and Fidel Martinez, Jr. and wife Camey of Red Mesa, CO.
Estella is also survived by sisters Juanita Garcia, Della Ocana, and Carmen Trujillo. She had 25 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Estella is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers Gusman, John, Benny and Celerino Montano, Sr.
