Dr. Chris Giangreco has been named as the Executive Director of Four Corners School by the the school Board of Directors.

Dr. Giangreco assumed the role of Interim Executive Director almost one year ago, after the board initiated a search to replace the founding Executive Director, Janet Ross.

Dr. Giangreco was initially hired for the position of Development Director, and then promoted to Interim Executive Director after a year-long transition planning process led by the Board.

During his time at Four Corners School, Dr. Giangreco has spearheaded efforts to refine both the internal business and public service operations of the organization, including efforts to grow the organization with its new Canyon Country Discovery Center facility, while updating and expanding impact in the Monticello community and beyond.

According to Board Chair Seth Levy, “We are energized and excited. Chris brings a tremendous combination of energy, focus and vision to Four Corners School and the Canyon Country Discovery Center. We are excited to work with our partners throughout the Colorado Plateau to bring our unique combination of education, adventure, and stewardship to a broader audience than ever before!”

With a background in both non-profit management and public policy development, the board believes Dr. Giangreco has a vision and the management skills to implement a successful future.

According to Dr. Giangreco, “Whether it is jeeping in Arch Canyon, rafting the San Juan River, or climbing in Indian Creek, I embrace all the outdoor recreation in our area. It has been an honor to work with the Four Corners School community as we grow and change.

“I look forward to making our organization a basecamp of education, adventure, and stewardship for everyone from hunting and hiking to camping and climbing.”

Four Corners School of Outdoor Education creates lifelong learning experiences about the Colorado Plateau for people of all ages and backgrounds through education, service, adventure, and conservation.

Located in the heart of the Colorado Plateau, our Canyon Country Discovery Center offers fun, learning and adventure for families, adventurers, students and travelers.
