DUST IN THE WIND
by Bill Boyle, Editor

Fall is just around the corner and we are making changes to the San Juan Record sports coverage.

Rhett Sifford is the new sports editor. He will coordinate the coverage of sports in general, and high school sports and activities in particular.

Rhett has years of experience covering sports, including the past 15 years as the radio voice of the Monticello High School football and basketball teams for KAAJ-LP.

We hope to expand our coverage of sports throughout the county and seek the assistance of our readers.

Tad Barton has retired after eight years of dedicated coverage of San Juan High School sports. He will be difficult to replace, but we are eager to move ahead.

In addition, we are anxious to increase the coverage of Whitehorse, Monument Valley and Navajo Mountain high schools.

Let us know if you are interested in helping us out. It can be relatively simple or, if you prefer, more detailed.

Call the San Juan Record at 435-587-2277 or email us at sjrnews@frontiernet.net.
