Two wanted fugitives were captured by U.S. Marshals on September 11 after nearly two weeks on the lam.

Blane and Susan Barksdale were arrested without incident at an isolated home near Tonto Basin, AZ.

The husband and wife had overpowered two guards in a prisoner transport van near Blanding on August 26 and continued on into Arizona, where they evaded authorities until the re-arrest on September 11.

The pair, who were being transported to Arizona from New York to face murder charges, had spent the night before their escape in the San Juan County jail.

After their initial escape, the pair had been placed on the 15 Most Wanted Fugitive list by the federal government.
