If elected to City Council, I will work together with the mayor and other council members to keep Monticello a safe, prosperous, and charming place to live and to visit. I believe in the beauty of our parks, our homes, and our streets, and I want them to continue to align with the grandeur of the mountains and plains that surround us.
My background in business and financial systems will be an asset as we work to make the best use of our public funds and be fiscally responsible in our budgeting and spending. I honor our city manager and those professionals who work for the city and know best about our day-to-day operations.
Monticello is at the crossroads of many wider interests. We balance the interests of families, farmers, small businesses, golfers, tourists, county government, and more. As a City Council member, I would contribute thoughtfully to the discussions and decisions we make to skillfully navigate and negotiate the interests of these various stakeholders. But I will never forget that Monticello’s most important stakeholders are those who live and have families here. That is why I am running for City Council.
As a parent, I have special concern for the children in our community. I offer heartfelt thanks to all the teachers, law enforcement personnel, crossing guards, church members, and every member of our community who look out for our young people. They truly are our future.
