Monday, November 25; Tuesday, November 26; and Wednesday, November 27, full road closures are planned on U.S. Highway 191 between mileposts 107 and 109 starting at 9: a.m. Single lane alternating traffic is anticipated to be restored by 10 a.m. but traffic queues could take additional time to clear depending on volume of traffic at the time of blasting. At other times, Motorists should be prepared for delays up to 15 minutes due to pilot car operations.
There will be no road closures on Thanksgiving Day.
Full closures at 9 a.m. will resume, Mondays through Thursdays, in the month of December. Closure schedules are available one week in advance on the project web page www.udot.utah.gov/go/191Blasting . Real-time traffic information is available at udottraffic.utah.gov and on the UDOT Traffic App.
The U.S. 191 Shoulder Improvement Project is valued at more than two-million dollars and includes excavating into existing rock cuts, upgrading safety barriers to new standards or removing barriers where shoulders can be leveled to improve the potential of drivers safely returning onto the roadway after wandering from the travel lanes.
