Black started her career in 1988 as a County Office Clerk with Rural Development.
Over the past 20 years she earned and received several upgrades. She has served as the Area Specialist in the Monticello office for several years. In her new position, she will be primarily processing Community Facilities and Business Loan applications
Black said, “I am very grateful for my job with USDA. It is great to work with so many good people and deliver wonderful programs to Rural America. We are part of an Agency that really cares about people. Many communities, businesses and families have been helped by our programs.
“It is fulfilling to help communities and families improve their life. I think one of the most rewarding programs is our mutual self-help programs. It has really benefited the families that have participated in this program. They learn life time skills and have a home to be very proud of.”
Liz is married to Dale and they have three daughters and 14 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family, attending sporting events and other activities that their grandchildren are involved in. Besides camping, 4-wheeling and being outdoors, she loves to cook and work in her yard and serve in the community. “I am thankful to live in America and enjoy the blessings that are here for each of us.” she said.
USDA Rural Development’s mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. Rural Development is the improvement in overall rural community conditions, including economic and other quality of life considerations such as the environment, health, infrastructure, and housing.
