The Blanding Giants girls softball team took 3rd place at the 2008 UGSA Filly State Tournament. The tournament was held Monday, July 7 through Wednesday, July 9 at the Spanish Fork Sports Park. The Giants placed first in the Blanding and Monticello Recreation league to earn the right to play in the state tournament. They picked up two players from the Blanding Marlin’s team, Tatiana Su’e Su’e and Jessica Swenson, to help at the state tournament. Coach Craig Swenson was also recruited to help coach. The girls played well and showed great sportmanship. The team would like to thank the parents, coaches, and the team sponsors: Utah Navajo Health Systems, Wells Fargo Bank, and Clark’s Market.
