Senior Chief Electronics Technician Ian L. Getter recently retired after serving 21 years in the United States Navy. Ian joined the 1457th Engineering Battalion in high school and made the Navy his career. He served on the USS New Jersey, USS Milius, and 12 additional commands. He deployed three times to the Persian Gulf. Ian is the stepson of Jim Butt and son of the late Janet Butt of Ucolo; and son of Bill Getter and stepson of Jody Getter of Cortez.
