Chad Alan Harris November 22, 1953 ~ July 3, 2024

Chad Alan Harris was born November 22, 1953 in Farmington, New Mexico and passed from this life in Monticello, Utah on July 3, 2024. He is the 7th of 9 children born to Wayne Hubert and Elma Ileen John Harris. Chad married his sweetheart, Sandra Kay Slade on July 30, 1971. They are the parents of 6 children. Chad was a stone mason in his early working years, assisting in the construction of many buildings across San Juan and Grand Counties, and beyond. He was a skilled craftsman, and took great pride in his work (most of which is still standing, and will be for many years to come.) Later, he worked as a truck driver, logging more than four million miles (the equivalent of 160 times around the earth) before he retired. He was a man of integrity, with a remarkable work ethic.
Faith and family were at the center of Chad’s life. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, accepting and fulfilling whatever calls came to him. He was happiest when surrounded by family, and especially when holding a grandchild or great grandchild.
Chad is preceded in death by his son Oliver James (Jim); his parents; his brother Oliver; and his sister, Jo Ellen Atwood. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Sandy, children; Larry (Susan), Steven (Leesa), Joseph (Kasey), Kasandra Price (Corey), Cynthia Jorgensen (Mike); 18 grandchildren*; 3 great grandchildren*; brother, Orlin; sisters Elma Palmer, Ruth Thayn, Linda Kennedy, Bonnie Crum, and Nivana John.
