Connie Ann Whipple-Mills

September 16, 1944 ~ March 11, 2021

We are saddened to announce the passing of our sweet mother, Connie Ann Whipple-Mills of Monticello, UT, on the beautiful, sunny, spring day March 11, 2021. Connie was surrounded by her loving daughters and passed away peacefully.

Our mother, Connie, was the most intelligent and beautiful woman to walk this earth and her children were so blessed to have her as their mother.

Connie Ann Milam was born on September 16, 1944 in Ely, NV to Cecil Otto Milam and Alta Hillman Nelson. Connie Ann was an only child and grew up in Tooele, UT. It is there that she met her first sweetheart, Douglas Allen Whipple.

After graduation, Doug and Connie moved to New Orleans, LA where Connie went to Charity Hospital and became a Nurse Anesthetist. Doug and Connie moved to Monticello, UT in 1975 to be closer to family, and she continued her long career at the San Juan and Grand county hospitals. Connie loved being a Nurse Anesthetist. She was full of compassion and helped numerous people through hardships and surgeries.

Later in her life, she met her second sweetheart, Edward Ray Mills, and together they went on to live happily until his passing.

Connie Ann was a kind, sweet, and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Milam and Alta Nelson; her husband, Ed Mills; her grandson, Michael Craig Roring, and great-granddaughter, Ellie Jarman.

She is survived by her children Douglas Jr, Kellie, Josh, Eli, Michael, Hannah, and Lynette; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Joy Pionke.

A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
