Gladys Lucille D. Compton

May 9, 1925 ~ November 3, 2014
On November 3, 2014 the sun lost a little of its brightness when Gladys Lucille Douglass Compton slipped from this mortal existence into the arms of her Savior.
The World may not have noticed this loss but to those who loved her, time stood still for a moment.
Her Influence on our lives is far reaching and will affect her posterity for generations to come.
Our hearts have been broken with her passing but our memories of the past will buoy us up and make us stronger.
Lucille was born on May 9, 1925 to Alta Medilia Smith and Garlen Eugene Douglass, she was the fifth child.
Her family lived east of Monticello, UT at Boulder. The family lived there until her and her sister Helen, were ready to attend high school.
Then the family moved to Monticello, where she lived until 2002.
Lucille moved to Washington, UT to get out of the snow and to be close to family.
Lucille married Glen Bays Cash on January 4, 1943. To that union four children were born. Glen D. Cash, Helen Diane Harris, Mary June (Red) Salisbury, and Clifford Steven (Donna) Cash. Lucille and Glen would later divorce.
She married Wayne Harry Orr on August 1, 1959. To that union three children were born, twins David Jay (Kathy) Orr, Dean Ray (Michelle) Orr and Judy Ann (Steve) Dyer.
She always tried to be happy and find good in all things. She loved the gospel and serving the Lord.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; Garlen and Alta Douglass, brothers Jim, Marion and Roy Douglass, son Glen D. Cash, and granddaughter Jadie Lynn Pehrson Thornhill, husbands Glen Cash, Wayne Orr, OG Leyerly, Don Steele, LeRoy Hemphill, Fay Gage and Milton Compton.
The joy of Lucille’s life was her seven children, her 22 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by them all.
Service were held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in Monticello.
