As the San Juan High School boys tennis team winds down their season and heads into the postseason, they’re still looking for their first overall win of the year. But they have strung together several set wins throughout the season.
Against Carbon in Price April 20 Bryce Adams won the first set of his second singles match against Cameron Jones six games to two.
Conner Montella won the first round of his third singles match 8-4 against Gunnison’s Oakley Christensen at the Uintah Invitational in Vernal April 29.
In round one second doubles play at that same tournament Ashton Jones and Evan Keith beat Koda Corona and Andrew Barlow of Gunnison 8-1.
This past Tuesday, May 3 the Broncos played in Richfield, picking up a nice individual win against the Wildcats.
Conner Montella won his first set in a tiebreaker 7-5, lost the second set in a tie breaker 5-7, then won the match with a 7-5 victory in the third set.
The Region 19 Championship is this Friday, May 13 for the Broncos, right back in Richfield. The 2022 state tournament is set for May 20-21 at the Liberty Park Tennis Center in Salt Lake City.
