Buckaroo wrestlers earn fourth place team finish in divisionals
The Monticello Buckaroo wrestlers finished fourth as a team at the 2A Division Tournament this past week in Beaver.
Seniors Brevin Olson and Tuff Adair led the way for the Buckaroos as both were crowned Division Champions at the end of the day.
Olson earned wins by fall in the first period in each of his early round matches and earned a second period fall in the finals. Overall, Olson was second on the weekend for most pins in the fastest time with three wins by fall in 4:14.
Adair had second period wins by fall in both the semifinal and final round matches.
Buckaroo Robert Musselman finished in second place for the weekend after earning a place in the championship match with a 10-6 win in the semifinals.
Oakley Adams finished the day with a third-place medal after earning a 9-2 win in the quarterfinals and a win by fall in the consolation final match.
Buckaroo Cameron Bailey earned a fourth-place finish with a win by fall in the quarterfinal round. Javlin Robison finished the weekend in fifth, earning two wins by fall.
Treydon Harris, Paxton Christensen, Zac Thayn, and Logan Draper each earned a sixth-place medal. Harris, Draper, and Christensen each earned a win by fall and Thayn earned a 6-2 decision.
Finishing the weekend with seventh-place finishes and each with a win by fall were Tyler Thayn and Thomas Fullmer. Buckaroo Chandler Henderson earned two wins on his way to a seventh-place finish.
This week the Buckaroos are off while they prepare for the state tournament in Richfield on Saturday, February 13.
