Lady Broncos run record to 17-2 to sit among top teams in Utah 2A volleyball standings

Since September 5 the San Juan High School volleyball team has won ten straight matches and has run their dominant record to 17-2 on the season.
This past weekend the team swept the Stallion Stampede at Stansbury Park, winning five straight matches on a very productive road trip.
Before those wins the Lady Broncos were ranked first in the state in the 2A classification, but fell to #2 after the weekend behind 14-4 Enterprise.
Wins in the past two weeks came against Parowan, South Sevier, Grand County, and Kanab in single matches. At the Stallion Stampede San Juan beat Cottonwood, Hurricane, Judge Memorial, Hillcrest, and Taylorsville.
The girls have only lost two sets during their current ten-win run and three Lady Broncos rank in the top ten in the state in four categories.
Keezie Flannery is second in assists with 531 and second in serving aces with 66. Averie Gilson’s 56 aces places her fifth in the state. And Morgann McPherson’s 266 kills is ninth among Utah players.
Faith Flannery is having an excellent freshman season and has collected 154 kills. Keezie Flannery has 66 kills on the year, and Havoc Laws has 52.
In addition to the ace leaders, Keegan Palmer has served up 46, Morgann McPherson has 31 on the season, and Adi Ivins has 25.
Havoc Laws leads the defense with 24 blocks, Madi Adams has 19, Faith Flannery has 17, and Keezie Flannery has 14.
McPherson leads the team with 211 digs, Averie Gilson is right behind with 208, Keegan Palmer has 132, and Keezie Flannery has 117.
The Lady Broncos are heading into the homestretch of the season, with two matches scheduled this week and five more in the first two weeks of October.
They’ll travel to face 2A #11 Beaver this Friday and #1 Enterprise on Saturday, September 26-27. In their first matchups with those teams this year they swept Beaver and lost in a five-set thriller to Enterprise.
