A total of 31 local athletes earn all-state honors in a fall season where teams broughta home one champion and three runner-up trophies

An astounding 22 high school student athletes representing San Juan County were named to All-State football teams for the 2022 fall sports season that recently came to a close.
The Deseret News released its list of football honorees on Wednesday, December 14 based exclusively on coaches’ votes from a list of nominated players from each team.
In addition, six cross country runners from Monticello and San Juan high schools finished in the top ten in their respective state, earning All-State honors.
The San Juan Record honored three local All-State volleyball players in the December 14 issue and is proud to continue presenting each of these outstanding student athletes along with photos and comments from their coaches.
Monticello football players appear in this issue. Additional football players and cross country runners will be honored in coming issues.
