Students advance to National History Fair

Two groups of local students earned awards in the Utah History Fair on April 16. Kaia Jay, Esperanza Lee and Kami Atcitty (above) took first place in the junior division for a documentary on The Long Walk. The eighth grade students at Albert R. Lyman Middle School in Blanding also won the Glen and Caroline Miner Prize in Utah History for their work. Michaela Wolford and Millie Boyle finished in second place in the senior division for a performance entitled Alien Encounter. They are students at Monticello High School. With their awards, the two groups earned an invitation to participate in the National History Fair in June in Washington, D.C.
