Top art students honored

Talented art students from throughout the San Juan School District recently held an art show as the school year came to a close. Scores of art pieces were presented at the Bluff Fort.
Winners have been named in the juried competition.
In the junior high division, first place winners are Barshiah Denetsosie in drawing, Gracee Bowers in painting, Irenecia Benn in mixed media, Alicia Dixon in sculpture, and Andrena Silas in ceramics.
In the high school division, the winners are Kamisha Goodman in drawing, Tony Kaye in painting, Kimberly Starkweather in mixed media, Brittany Dee in sculpture and Zoie Chamberlain in ceramics.
In the middle school division, Denmin Teeasyaton was second and Koin Kaer third in drawing, Stacey Whitehair was second and Matthew Beh third in painting, Sophie Redd second and Elias Blackhorse third in mixed media, Breanna Howell second and Savannah Hillhouse third in sculpture, and Matthew Blackhorse second and Elias Blackhorse third in ceramics.
In the high school division, Jaice Whipple was second and Halle Young third in drawing, Monique Cly second and Shay Laws third in painting, Easton Bowring second and Averi Christiansen third in mixed media, Averi Christiansen second and Sage Yazzie third in sculpture, and Lori Begaye second and Kyler Mitchell third in ceramics.
