Golf Tournament raises $5,000 for the Hideout

Local golfers raised more than $5,000 at the second annual Founders Golf Tournament, held at the Hideout Golf Club in Monticello on August 31.
Winners of the scramble tournament, for the second year in a row, are Manuel Torres, Rafe Saunders, Kristyon Saunders, and Javlen Pierce.
Zac Martinez and his family were named the Volunteers of the Year at the Hideout.
The event is held every year during the Labor Day weekend to raise funds for the course. The inaugural tournament in 2023 raised nearly $8,000 and funded a number of projects at the Hideout over the past year.
The key project was construction of a “Founders Pavillion” between the 8th green and 9th tee box. Funds this year will help finish the pavillion.
Additional projects include purchase of maintenance vehicles, flowers, clean up and more.
The Founders Tournamnt is sponsored by the San Juan Record, Redrock92, and the Utah Department of Agriculture.
