His recent works have featured stories about the settlement of San Juan County, including The Undaunted, the story of the Hole in the Rock pioneers.
Only the Brave, the Continuing Saga of the San Juan Pioneers, which was released in 2014, is a sequel to The Undaunted and tells the story of the Bluff settlement and the settlement of Monticello.
At the same time Only the Brave was released, the first volume of the Fire and Steel series, A Generation Rising, was also released.
The second volume of the series, The Storm Descends, features a fictional family from Monticello and their interaction with members of the LDS Church in Germany leading up to World War II.
Lund says, “San Juan County plays no small part” in the Fire and Steel series.
