August 12 Primary election in Blanding

Blanding City is holding a primary election on Tuesday August 12. Five candidates for Blanding City Council will be narrowed down to four candidates by Blanding City voters.

The top four vote earners next week will advance to the November municipal election as voters decide two members of the council.

Candidates for city council include Incumbent Erik Merlin Grover, Chad Moses, Jesse Grover, Stacy Harrison and Bret Allen Hosler. Current city council member Cheryl Bowers will not seek re-election.

Mail-in ballots have been delivered to registered voters in the city of Blanding. Early voting will occur August 8 from 1-5 pm at the county library in Blanding, voting election day will occur on August 12 also at the library.

Current Blanding Mayor Trevor Olsen is seeking election to a four-year term as Mayor. Olsen is the only candidate for office.

Municipal elections will also be taking place in Monticello and Bluff this November, but no primary elections are needed in those municipalities.
