Blanding City Council 2025 Primary Election

Blanding city council primary election result will see four candidates advance to the November general election.

Blanding residents cast ballots during the August 12 election, 581 ballots have been counted with 1,494 registered voters in the city the primary election saw a 39-percent turnout.

Incumbent Erik Merlin Grover led vote earners with 263 votes, with Jesse Glen Grover earning 227 votes and Bret Allen Hosler earning 223 votes.

Chad Moses earned 186 votes and if result patterns hold, Moses will be the fourth candidate in the November general election. Stacy Harrison earned 166 votes.

San Juan County Clerk Lyman Duncan says there are 37 outstanding ballots that have not yet been verified.

The five candidates also participated in a city sponsored meet the candidates night with the five running for office answering questions for about an hour You can find the link to a video recording of the event on Blanding City facebook page or HERE.

Current Blanding Mayor Trevor Olsen is seeking election to a four-year term as Mayor.

Olsen is the only candidate for office.

Municipal elections will also be taking place in Monticello and Bluff this November, but no primary elections were needed in those municipalities.
