Fatal car crash leaves one dead on SR-162
A fatal car crash outside Montezuma Creek leaves one dead and another injured on Saturday, June 25.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, at around 4:30 p.m., vehicles traveling in opposite directions, a passenger car and a pickup truck, collide on SR-162 at mile marker 8, about halfway between Bluff and Montezuma Creek, after one of the vehicles crossed the center line for some unknown reason and hit the other head-on.
The male driver of the passenger car was declared deceased when first responders arrived on the scene. The driver of the pick-up was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.
The crash blocked both sides of traffic and the highway was briefly shut down by troopers for an investigation.
