Withdrawal of candidate results in cancellation of election in Bluff
The general election for the Town of Bluff has been canceled after the withdrawal of one candidate.
Luanne Hook withdrew her name from consideration for another term on the Town Council. That leaves Spencer Wade and Gary Haws as the only two candidates for two open positions on the Town Board. Joshua Ewing is unopposed in the race for Mayor.
As a result, the election was canceled at the September 16 meeting of the Bluff Town Council.
The town government will experience a significant change on January 1, 2026, when the new officials will take office.
Leaving office after their current terms expire are Mayor Ann Leppanen and Town Councilmembers Linda Sosa and Louanne Hook. All three have held their positions in Bluff town government since Bluff was incorporated and the first election took place in June, 2018.
