Bruce Adams

San Juan County Commission
Bruce Adams is committed to protecting the Health, Safety and welfare of all citizens of San Juan County. The biggest threat we have in the county is the overreach of the Federal Government. We battle daily to maintain the rights that we are afforded under the constitution. Some are advocating for a 1.9 million acre National Monument. I believe this would be devastating to all our citizens. I believe in protecting precious cultural resources, but seriously: Don’t we have enough laws to do that right now? A monument would put these resources at risk. A monument would eliminate precious grazing on public lands and lock up most of our traditional uses of public land. NO MONUMENT.
As a commissioner, I work closely with the other two commissioners to maintain county operations and county services. In the past 4 years we have worked hard to get a viable sewer and water system for our Spanish Valley residents. This has been funded and will provide excellent service for them. We also have worked to bring broadband to our reservation residents and schools. Another important accomplishment is the new Health Building being constructed in Blanding that will house Public Health, Mental Health and a clinic for San Juan County Health District. The Commission has recognized the need for road improvements throughout the county. We were able to assist Blanding and Monticello in receiving monies to repair deteriorating roads in both communities. We have also embarked on upgrading dirt roads on the reservation to gravel in the coming years.
I am committed to working to improve the quality of life for all the citizens in San Juan County, and I urge you to vote for Bruce Adams for San Juan County Commissioner.
