Bucks win Manti duals tournament

The Monticello Buckaroo wrestlers brought home an early Christmas present this weekend, winning top honors and the Championship trophy over the weekend at the Manti Tournament. 
They also put an exciting 49-30 win at home over Norwood.  The Buckaroos closed out the 2015 portion of their season and head into the Christmas break looking strong. 
In their home dual against Norwood, the Buckaroos were 7-4 in head-to-head varsity matches.  
In JV matches, Wyatt Fullmer started the night with an exciting win by fall.  Clayton Westcott worked hard but was defeated 15-5. 
Varsity started with a couple of tough losses as Matt Beh and Justus Robison were defeated. Steven Robinson moved the Buckaroos to the win column with a strong 10-0 win, followed by Brayson Wilcox and Kayden Draper who both won with exciting falls. 
Shandon Bradford had a strong 11-4 win, followed by tough losses for Paul DeAnda and Justin Cecil.  Thomas Anderson worked hard for his 8-5 victory followed by wins by fall for Isaiah Sheeran and Nathan Moore. 
At the Manti Duals tournament, the Buckaroos had a great weekend, winning the tournament for only the second time in recent history. 
They were 9-1 as a team with wins against Panguitch 42-36, Wayne 60-24, Altamont 40-36, Independent team 48-12, Richfield 63-13, Summit Academy 78-6, Gunnison 51-26, North Sanpete 54-24 and nearly shutting Manti out in a 72-6 win.  The Buckaroos were only defeated by Duchesne in a close 39-42 loss. 
Leading the team and going undefeated for the weekend was Brayson Wilcox who was 10-0 with eight wins by fall, Zac Musselman who was 9-0 with eight wins by fall and an exciting 8-5 win over Foy of Altamont, and Shandon Bradford went 9-0 with all nine wins by fall.
Finishing the weekend with only one loss were Isaiah Sheeran and Parker Knudsen. Sheeran had seven wins by fall and Knudsen put two wins by fall and one 12-2 win in the books.  
Matt Beh, Steven Robinson and Paul DeAnda each had a good weekend, all going 7-2. Beh and DeAnda scored all seven wins by fall, with Robinson winning four by fall. 
Thomas Anderson was 4-4 on the weekend winning all by fall.  Wyatt Fullmer, Kayden Draper and Nathan Moore all had three wins. Bryson Henderson also had a varsity win for the Bucks, winning by fall.  
Several Buckaroos picked up varsity matches for other teams on the weekend. Clayton Westcott had a strong weekend at 8-2, Mark Beh worked hard to a 6-2 record, and Spencer Squires also had a good weekend at 6-3.
Reed Hedglin did well and was 5-4 in varsity matches. Justin Cecil also got good varsity experience with two wins on the weekend.
In JV action, Tyler Draper and Bryson Henderson were undefeated at 5-0. Gage Wilcox was also undefeated at 3-0. Tacovi Warren was 4-3, followed by Colton Lewis, Justus Robison, and Seamis Barrell who all finished 3-2.
Braxton Attwood also earned a win for the Buckaroos.
The Buckaroos are on break for the holiday and will be back in action January 9 when they travel to the Pagosa Springs Tournament.
