Desert Rose Inn opens new 16-room expansion

A remarkable new destination in Bluff has recently opened with a 16-room addition to the Desert Rose Inn.
The addition, under the direction of Desert Rose owners Cindy and Amer Tumeh, includes a massive foyer, stunning indoor swimming pool, beautiful outdoor pavilion, exercise and workout room, and 16 beautifully designed rooms. Even the large retaining wall on the property is impressive.
The project increases the capacity of the Desert Rose Inn to 53 rooms and increases the number of motel rooms in Bluff to 122. This represents a 20 percent increase over the past year in the number of motel rooms in Bluff.
“This addition helps establish the Desert Rose Inn as a premiere destination property,” said Charlie DeLorme, the economic development and tourism director for San Juan County.
The Desert Rose Inn recently celebrated the opening of the addition with an appreciation barbecue on June 26. A catered meal and entertainment was provided to the large number of people who have been involved in the project.
People from near and far attended the barbecue, including Vicki Varela, the director of the Utah Department of Tourism, along with a group of tourism officials.
The vast majority of the work was completed by local contractors. However, the interior design was completed by Robeson Design Studio, a renowned design firm in San Diego, CA.
The handiwork of Rebecca Robeson is evident throughout the project in Bluff. She leads the design team and “stars” in an online reality series, entitled Driven To Design.
The Desert Rose Inn project has been featured in several episodes of the online series. They can be found on YouTube, including https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2T34O2s8Rw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iytqj0AJYRQ
The design is simply stunning, featuring beautiful oil paintings, a massive fireplace and spectacular guest rooms.
Cindy Tumeh states that the project has been well received, with nearly all of the rooms at the resort rented through the busy summer season.
Tumeh adds that local residents may get a local discount for room rentals during the winter season.
