Changes to SJR delivery

DUST IN THE WIND
by Bill Boyle
Beginning this week, most readers of the San Juan Record will receive the paper one day later than normal.
The Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News have discontinued daily delivery and we have scrambled in the two weeks since the change was announced. The result is the one-day delay in delivery.
The San Juan Record is printed each week at the MediaOne presses in Salt Lake City. It will now be printed on Tuesday and delivered to us on Wednesday morning.
We will turn around the papers as soon as possible and are committed to get copies to the post office in Monticello and to the news stands in Blanding and Monticello as early as possible on Wednesday morning. Subscriber copies and news stands in the remainder of the county will be available on Thursday.
Our sincere apologies for the change. We strive to maintain a high quality product and to deliver the news in a timely manner. As a result, we will increase the amount of news that is available from other sources.
Our online version of the paper, available to paid subscribers, will be “delivered” to the internet each week by Tuesday evening.
In addition, we will post updated news stories throughout the week on the San Juan Record website at sjrnews.com. In the past, we have updated the website on a weekly basis.
Of necessity, the decision was made in a rush. You may be impacted in a variety of ways that we were not able to consider.
If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please contact us at the office, on the phone at 435-587-2277 or via email at sjrnews@frontiernet.net.
Thanks!
