Oleen Hatch is faculty Grand Marshal at MHS

Oleen Nelson Hatch appreciates the recognition of the Monticello High School alumni during the 2018 Homecoming activities.
Mr. Hatch grew up in Parowan, UT and graduated from Parowan High School in 1948. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Utah State Agricultural College and began teaching in Millard County in 1952.
The family moved to Monticello in 1966 where he finished his teaching career. In 1970 he received a Masters degree from Notre Dame University.
Mr. Hatch still is grateful for the opportunity to work with so many good and talented students and their parents who wisely counseled, “A little trouble at school means a lot of trouble at home!”
All five of the Hatch children are Monticello High graduates; Charlene, Richard, Robert, Karen, and Joyce managed to survive classes taught by their father. Their children can now be found raising families from the East to the West Coast.
Mr. Hatch enjoys running into former students in the Post Office, the grocery and drug stores, at funerals, church, and the Monticello Temple. Most of them now have gray hair and their own grandchildren.
